Import e-Arşiv and e-Fatura PDFs From Online Shopping
Online orders in Turkey come with e-Arşiv or e-Fatura PDFs. Share them into Tasarruf to track prices without a photo; the GİB QR code makes totals exact.

A growing part of household shopping happens online: groceries delivered from a supermarket app, cleaning supplies from a marketplace, nappies in bulk. In Turkey, those orders usually come with an electronic invoice, an e-Arşiv or e-Fatura PDF, sent by e-mail or available in your order history. There is no paper receipt to photograph. That does not mean these purchases have to be missing from your price history.
What e-Arşiv and e-Fatura are
Both are electronic invoices registered with Turkey’s Revenue Administration (GİB). For a shopper the difference rarely matters: e-Arşiv is typically what you receive as an individual consumer, and e-Fatura is used between registered businesses. Either way, you get a PDF that lists the seller, the date, each item, quantities, unit prices, discounts, VAT and the total.
That is the same information a till receipt carries, often in a cleaner form. No faded paper, no creases, no long strip to photograph in parts.
Why online purchases belong in your price history
If you only track receipts from physical shops, your picture of prices and spending has a hole in it:
- Monthly totals are too low. A big online grocery order every two weeks can be a large share of what you spend.
- Price history has gaps. If you buy coffee online one month and in a shop the next, you only see half of its price movements.
- Your basket index has less coverage. Fewer matched products means the personal basket index is more likely to say “not enough data”.
How to import a PDF
You do not need to print it or take a screenshot. On your phone:
- Open the invoice PDF, from the e-mail attachment, your files, or the shop’s order page.
- Tap Share.
- Choose Tasarruf from the share sheet.
The PDF goes through the same pipeline as a photo: the server reads the seller, date, lines, quantities, unit prices, discounts, VAT and total, checks that the numbers add up, and shows you the review screen with any suspicious fields highlighted. You save it like any other receipt.
The QR code makes totals exact
Many e-Arşiv and e-Fatura PDFs carry a GİB QR code. When that QR code is present, Tasarruf uses it for the totals. The QR data comes from the invoice itself, so the totals do not depend on reading printed numbers.
The individual lines are still read from the document and checked against those totals: lines must add up, quantity times unit price must match each line total, and VAT per rate must agree. If something does not add up, the field is highlighted for you to check.
PDF imports do not count against your free scans
The free plan includes 10 photo scans a month. PDF and e-Arşiv imports do not count towards that limit. If most of your shopping arrives with an electronic invoice, you can import all of it on the free plan and still keep your photo scans for shop receipts.
| Source | Counts against photo scans? |
|---|---|
| Camera scan of a paper receipt | Yes |
| Photo picked from the gallery | Yes |
| Shared e-Arşiv / e-Fatura PDF | No |
Tasarruf Plus raises the photo limit to 150 a month, for households that shop mostly in person.
A few practical tips
- Import when the order arrives. The e-mail is easiest to find then, and you remember what you ordered.
- Look at delivery and service fees. If the invoice lists a delivery fee, it is a line like any other. Check it on the review screen before saving.
- Same product, different seller. The same item bought online and in a shop may be printed differently. Matching is per store chain, so Tasarruf may ask you once whether two lines are the same product. See product matching.
What import is not
Tasarruf reads invoices you receive; it does not issue or send invoices, connect to your bank, or read your e-mail inbox. You choose which PDFs to share. It is a price and spending memory for your household, not accounting software.
How Tasarruf helps
Share an e-Arşiv or e-Fatura PDF into Tasarruf and it becomes a receipt with lines, unit prices and totals, checked against the GİB QR code when present, without using any of your free photo scans. Online and in-store purchases end up in the same price history and monthly totals. Find out more about Tasarruf.
